Cabin in Murphys

Family.....

We are so very blessed to have wonderful friends that are willing to share their fun place with us! We left early Sunday morning to join the Tankersley family at the cabin in Murphy, CA. There wasnt' snow there, like we were hoping, but it was cold and crisp and awesome anyway!
The kids love to go outside on "grampa's swing" and hang out with their cousins. It was a little too cold and a little too wet to stay out for longer than an hour or two at a time, but it was time to cuddle and play and be on vacation! We did spend alot of time inside, mostly killing big spiders (thank you Uncle Rich), and we were a little unprepared. Next time....more games and toys for the kids (scooters didn't happen, because the porch was too slippery) and maybe some crafts to pass the time inside. We brought movies with us, thinking we wouldn't need them that much, but next time, maybe a little less, though that was the best thing to calm the littles. ;)

Monday & Tuesday, we drove up about 20 minutes to Stanislaus National Forest to play in the snow. This was Conner & Ashley's first time in te snow and they had lots of plans....snow men, snow angels, snowballs, etc. We found a great little hill to get everyone started, then moved up to the "mountain" and went further down. Everyone got a turn and the people that came by later were even sharing their inner tubes with them and they LOVED that! I don't think we had hesitation from any of the kids, they all liked going down on their own or with an adult and get some speed and a little air once in awhile. I think I have 2 little dare devils on my hands!

3 1/2 days of FUN!!! Hoping we can go again, and make it something they really remember, since snow doesn't get down to our level. ;)
